Private Sector: This encompasses all attendees who do not qualify for the “government” or “self-employed or retiree” rate. This includes employees of consulting firms, vendors, manufacturers, railroads, associations, and other companies, firms, or organizations.

Government: This encompasses attendees currently employed by a government agency or public university, or serving as an in-house consultant in a government agency. This category is determined by current employment status. Meeting the criteria in the NCUTCD Operating Procedures for “government member” does not authorize the use of this rate if the person is not currently employed by a government agency or public university.

Self-Employed or Retiree: This encompasses attendees who have retired from full-time employment (either public or private) or are a sole proprietor of a business or firm. This category also includes employees or contractors working for a 501(c)(3)-eligible nonprofit with five or fewer total paid employees or contractors.

Registration for the meeting may be completed either online using a credit card or via PDF registration form. NCUTCD strongly recommends that attendees register and pay using online registration and credit card.

Hotel Information
The Holiday Inn by the Bay is in downtown Portland near the waterfront. Hotel reservations may be made by clicking the link below. The cut-off date for reservations is May 23, 2024. After that, reservations are accepted on an availability basis. The base NCUTCD conference rate at the Holiday Inn by the Bay is $275.00 single or double occupancy. Note that the room block may sell out well prior to the deadline, so making reservations early is recommended. When booking, click the green BOOK NOW button and then enter the dates you are needing during the meeting and click the green SEARCH button while being sure to keep “Group Rate, Travel Agent” as the selected rate preference (selecting any other rate may result in no rooms being listed as available).

There were a very limited number of rooms offered at the government per diem rate; however, these rooms have already sold out.  We apologize to those persons who were unable to book at that rate.

Transportation
The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle from the Portland Jetport, Amtrak, and bus stations. Call (207) 775-2311 upon arrival and follow the instructions given by the hotel.

Parking
A discounted parking fee of $10.00 per day is offered to meeting attendees. In order to receive the discounted rate, let the front desk know you are parking onsite as part of this meeting or you may be charged the higher rate.
